Great Horned Owl This owl can be located in both North and South America, nesting in various environments, from stony deserts to different types of forests. It is establishing its territory by hooting. It is one of the biggest owls and does not like changing its location. It does not build nests but uses those already existing. It preys on other hunting mammals, birds, reptiles, fish and insects.
