An extremely charming representative of the amphibian is the Amazon milk frog. This arboreal inhabitant of the
tropical rainforests of South America has excellent conditions for reproduction in the Gdańsk Zoo. Numerous offspring delight the eye
especially of the youngest guests. Visitors of our garden may sometimes get the chance to listen to these frogs; during the mating period,
females are attracted by the loud singing of their male counterparts. Patterns of bright spots on the body provide the Amazon milk frog
with camouflage, probably imitating the appearance of bird droppings on the branches of trees.
