DISTRIBUTION AND HABITAT
Occurs in central Asia. It lives in desert areas, shrubs and forests.
Usually lives in small flocks. It creates larger groups, usually in abundant food and in shared roosting areas, where birds from a large area can gather on one large tree. When birds sit in trees, they camouflage very well and can be difficult to see.
Omnivorous species: it feeds on a wide variety of wild and cultivated seeds, flowers, flower buds, nectar, grains, fruits and vegetables, but also insects.
It nests in tree hollows, palm trees, less often in buildings.
