DISTRIBUTION AND HABITAT
Southeastern China and Taiwan.
BEHAVIOUR
They are solitary and territorial animals. Males have short antlers up to 10 cm long, and long upper canines about 6 cm long. Adult individuals weighs between
10 and 18 kilograms. They are most active at dawn and dusk.
Lifespan: up to 18 years.
DIET
They feed on leaves, grasses, fruits, berries, fungi and nuts.
REPRODUCTION
Gestation period last 220 days, they give birth to a single fawn. The offspring aftre 17 months stards to eat solid foods and are no longer dependent on their mother’s milk Young reeves’s muntjac become independent by the age of 6 months and must leave mother’s territory.

It is called the barking deer because of distinctive barking sound when they feeling anxious.
