This species lives in flocks in South America’s tropical rainforests. Breeding pairs often stay together their whole lives. The ritual gestures that reinforce the strong bonds between two partners include grooming, ‘kissing’ and feeding each other.
This bird consumes leaves, seeds as well as fruit and nuts.
